Wild Child

Picture
[This episode starts in the Dunn's backyard. It is raining, creating mud everywhere. The thunder crashes and we get a close up on Sally, who looks as gruff as possible holding her squirt gun.]
Sally: You'll never win Captain Commando!
[Cut to Robert in a fox hole with a shovel behind him.]
Robert: Oh yeah? I'd like to see you try to stop me!
[Robert gets a face full of mud.]
Robert: Lucky shot!
[Robert gets another face full of mud.]
Robert: Okay, NOW your'e asking for it.
Sally: Come on, hit me with your best shot!
[Robert picks up a pile of mud. He winds up and throws it at Sally. It goes right past her.]
Sally: Wow, you're a terrible shot.
[The camera jumps back to show that she's standing right next to him.]
Sally: Like really terrible.
Robert: Am I?
[Robert points up. The mud hits a loose board in the tree house, which knocks a potted plant into the air. It comes crashing down on the roof's drain pipe, breaking it. The dirt within falls down onto a trampoline and bounces into the air. Sally watches it, staring up, only to get hit with the falling dirt.]
Robert: Gotcha.
[The broken drain pipe drains onto a patio umbrella, which then pours onto Robert's head. He becomes annoyed. After a beat, they both start laughing. Autumn comes outside, wearing a raincoat.]
Autumn: What are you two up to?
Sally: Getting some bait.
[Sally pulls some worms out of her pocket.]
Robert: And uh... it looks like we got kinda carried away.
[Robert takes this opportunity to pour more mud on Sally.]
Autumn: Bait?
Sally: Well, what's a camping trip without some fishing?
[Sally squirts Robert back with her squirt gun.]
Autumn: Camping?
Sally: Yupperoni.
Autumn: You do know that half of Summerway is a forest, right?
Robert: Camping is more than just hanging out in the woods, Autumn.
Sally: Right! It's about being in tune with nature! You know, roughing it without a roof over you head, and you can't forget about the campfire smores! That's like, the best part!
Autumn: I don't get the appeal, I'm sorry.
Sally: Hey, then you can come with us!
Robert: Yeah, that sounds like a great idea! We'll have a family camping trip. It'll just be us. No electricity, no phones. Just getting in touch with nature.
[Autumn's reaction gets more and more disturbed as Robert continues.]

[We jump cut to Autumn rushing into the living room. Max is reading his comic book on the couch. Gumdrops is in the back, admiring himself in a mirror.]
Autumn: Max! Sally's making me go on a camping trip!
Max: Sounds like a fun time.
Autumn: But-but-but...
[Sally and Robert enter the room, still covered in mud.]
Sally: Good thing it rained, or we'd never get the worms we needed.
[Sally shakes off her mud like a cat. Her hair poofs up as she does so. The mud launches into the air and nearly hits Gumdrops, causing him to freak out.]
Robert: This is looking to be the best family camping trip ever.
Sally: No, the bestest family camping trip ever!
[When Autumn hears this, she gets a smile and a bright idea.]
Autumn: Well, I don't know about that. I mean how could could a family camping trip really be... if the whole family wasn't going.
[Max looks up from his comic book, shocked.]
Max: [Whispers] You wouldn't.
Autumn: [Whispers] Oh I so would.
Sally: Yeah! That'd be perfect! Oh Max, you're gonna have so much fun!
Max: Uh Sally, I'd love to, but I have... a lot of work to do this weekend.
[Sally puts her hands on her hips.]
Sally: Like sitting there, reading your comic?
Max: I do more than that.
Autumn: Oh I don't know about that. I don't the last time you've made me spend my weekend playing video games, having tea parties, or baking cakes. I guess it's just a sign of getting older.
Max: I guess I'll have to start at some point.
[Autumn walks triumphantly towards the stairs.]
Autumn: Oh I look forward to our tea parties. Sorry Sally, looks like we can't--
Max: You know what, camping sounds like a bunch of fun.
[Both Sally and Autumn are in shot. Sally has stars in her eyes. Autumn looks devastated.]
Autumn: You'll what?
Max: You are SO right, Autumn. I need to enjoy my childhood some more before it's over.
Sally: Yes, yes, yes!
[Sally gives Max a hug. Max looks at Autumn with an evil smile.]
Max: You might wanna start packing.
[Gumdrops gives a bit of a laugh of his own. He doesn't even notice Sally putting a collar and a leash on him.]
Sally: It's gonna be so much fun: dealing with the elements; seeing all kinds of slipper slimy creatures; eating gooey, sticky smores; and walking down muddy hiking trails. You're gonna love it Gumdrops!
[Gumdrops has an immediate over-the-top shocked reaction. Then he jumps to pleading.]
Sally: Wow, he seems really excited about this.
[Gumdrops panickedly looks to the left and right. Then he comes back wearing an extravagant princess dress.]
Sally: Sure you can wear that, as long as you don't mind it getting dirty!
[Sally wraps her arm around Gumdrops' neck in a hug and takes a picture of the two of them. Gumdrops looks nervous, but Sally has a wide grin. The caption reads "We're going on the bestest family camping trip ever!"

[Cut to the car in the drive way. Both Autumn and Max are inside it. Autumn is panicked.]
Autumn: You don't have to do this, you know. We could both be in our rooms right now, spending the weekend doing nothing.
[Max laughs.]
Max: I didn't run a business by losing games. If you come at me, you'd better be prepared to lose.
Autumn: Think about what you're giving up - no TV, no video games, no comic books.
Max: And no cell phone service. Trust me, Autumn. You're the one who's gonna have the hardest time with this.
[Pan over to Gumdrops frantically banging on the window glass for help.]
Sally: Wow, Gumdrops really wants to go on this camping trip. We should bring him along more often.
[Sally says this as she stuffs Gumdrops in the car.]
Robert: Do we have everything we need?
[Sally turns towards Robert, accidentally slamming the door on Gumdrops as he tries to dive out.
Sally: Let's go down the list one more time.
[Robert pulls out a list and Sally starts looking through a bunch of stuff piled on top of the car.]
Robert: Sleeping bags?
Sally: Got 'em.
Robert: Tents.
Sally: Yup.
Robert: Canteens, first aid kid, fishing poles?
Sally: Yup.
Robert: Drum kit?
Sally: Duh. It was the first thing we packed.
Robert: Right. I just can't help but think that we're forgetting something.
Sally: Whatever it was, it couldn't be that important. C'mon, let's go!
[Sally and Robert rush off. As they do so, we pan to inside the kitchen. On the counter is a crate labelled "chocolate." We hear the car start up, take off, crash into the fence, and begin driving down the road at an extreme speed.]

[Cut to a natural pristine shot of the forest. Birds are happily chirping up in the trees. Fish pop out of a pond. Squirrels jump from branch to branch. Then we hear the sound of Dunn's car revving up as it goes rummaging through the forest. It causes the branches to shake, making a squirrel to fall out of the tree. It looks increasingly frightened as the headlights of the car get bigger and bigger on it. However, the car stops point blank in front of the squirrels, causing him to faint backwards.]
[Cut to Sally getting out of the car.]
Sally: I'm so excited! Let's get started!
[Max gets out of the car. Autumn exits it in the background. Max smirks in her direction.]
Max: Alright, so what's the first thing that we need to do?
Robert: It's probably best to get the tents ready.
[As Robert talks we see Gumdrops standing in the car. The door is open. He's looking at a particular messy mud puddle below the car and desperately does not want to fall in.]
Sally: I'll get them!
[Sally rushes towards the car and starts pulling things out of the trunk. This takes weight off of the car, causing it to dump Gumdrops right into the mud, face-first. There's the sound of an alarm bell ringing as he panics. Gumdrops dives straight into the pond water.]
Robert: Someone's excited to get started.
[Gumdrops' head pops up from the water with a lily pad on top. He looks annoyed. Then a frog jumps on his nose and ribbits at him.]

[Cut to Autumn struggling to get her tent up. The actual tent is off screen as she struggles building it.]
Autumn: How do you do this? That piece doesn't go there, that one doesn't go with that one. And I have no idea what this piece is for!
[Autumn pulls away one of the tent poles.]
Autumn: Well it looks done now. Sorta.
[The camera pans back to show that Autumn's tent is all misshapen. The other tent poles go in random directions. Robert walks by, looking rather concerned.]
Robert: Are you sure you don't want some help with that?
Autumn: What are you talking about? That's... how it's supposed to look.
Robert: Uh...[Cut to Sally in a tent that's three stories high and looks like a fairy tale princess castle.]
Sally: Robbie, if that's how Autumn wants her tent to look, then that's how it's supposed to look.
Autumn: Uh... exactly!
[Autumn's tent then crumbles to the ground. Cut to Max standing next to his set up tent.]
Max: Sure you don't want any help with that, Autumn?
Autumn: I can do this myself just fine, thank you.
[Autumn gets back to work on her tent, grumbling all the way. Eventually she gets it back up to a fully formed tent.]
Sally: Alright, tents are up! Time to go fishing!
[Sally runs by with fishing poles in hand. As she does, the hook of her rod snags a branch on a tree, cleaving it. It falls down, deflating Autumn's tent once again.]
Autumn: Why do I even bother?

[Cut to Sally and Robert on a pier over the pond. Robert is trying to get one of the boats ready to go into the deeper waters.]
Robert: It looks like these boats won't hold more than two people. You don't mind riding with Autumn, do you?
[Cut to Max, who looks slightly annoyed.]
Max: Uh...
[Cut to Autumn trying desperately to pull a fishing pole out of the car. She manages to pull it out, but the force causes her to fall backwards into the mud. Cut to Gumdrops sitting next to a fire pit, licking his fur clean when he once again gets covered in mud. This time Gumdrops gives an expression of sheer annoyance.]
Max: No problem...

[Cut to Max and Autumn both on their own boat. Sally and Robert are far off in the background. Autumn is incredibly bored.]
Autumn: I know I have a hard time seeing the fun in things, but I'm never going to know why Robert finds this enjoyable.
Max: Oh please, it's not that bad.
Autumn: Max, fishing is literally just staring at the water. To be frank, I'd rather be in school right now.
[Jump cut to Sally and Robert on their boat. Robert has a shiver.]
Sally: Something wrong?
Robert: I just felt... a disturbance in the force.
[Cut back to Autumn and Max's boat.]
Autumn: You know we both could have just home stayed home if you--
Max: If you weren't so busy complaining at me, you might have noticed that you've got a bite.
[Autumn looks surprised, but she sees that her reel is being pulled away. Autumn starts to reel in. Then Max gets a bite.]
Max: And I've got a bite too.
[We have several shots of both of them pulling as hard as they possibly can.]
Autumn: I wouldn't have to pay attention to a stupid fishing line if I was at home.
Max: I think spending some time out here is great for you.
Autumn: I think you just want to get back at me.
Max: I consider that a bonus.
[Pan to the underside of the boat. Max and Autumn's fishing lines have been tangled up and they are trying to reel in each other. The fish that are swimming around it laugh at their misfortune. A particularly large fish grabs the line and pulls it down.]
[Cut back to the boat. Both Autumn and Max bang their heads into the boat and they bounce back banging into each other. A large slack of fishing wire falls down. Both Autumn and Max try pulling themselves up.]
Max: Okay, if I'm not letting my mother win, I'm definitely not getting beaten by a stupid fish.
[Max starts pulling his rod. Some of the fishing rod is wrapped around Autumn's leg, knocking her back down and through the seat of the boat.]
Autumn: You never let anyone win do you?
[Autumn says this as she starts pulling her own fishing rod. This ends up pulling Max's torso until half of his body is underwater. He pulls back, causing Autumn to do likewise.]
Max: Didn't think I was kid enough to try?
[Both of them pull so hard that the line snaps and they both fall back into each other, ending up tied with the fishing line.]
Autumn: Well, this is just great.
[One of the impact holes in the boat starts spouting water, leading to the two of them sinking.]
Max: And that's just fantastic.
[Cut to Sally and Robert on their boat Robert is just about to fall asleep, but then his line starts reeling into the water.]
Sally: Robbie! You've got a bite!
[Robert, in shock, wakes up. He starts reeling in. He's struggling a lot.]
Robert: Whatever it is, it's huge! Sally, I need help!
Sally: I'm coming! I'm coming!
[Sally goes over and tries to pull Robert back.]
Robert: This is one fat fish. I don't think that I've ever caught anything this big before!
[They end up pulling Autumn and Max up, both still tied together and dripping wet, covered in underwater weeds.]
Robert: I... uh... didn't mean it like that.
[Autumn spits up water in Robert's face, annoyed.]

[Cut to the dock. Max and Autumn are still visibly wet and annoyed. Robert and Sally are ahead of them.]
Sally: So, how did you two like fishing?
[As Sally turns around, Autumn and Max both give the biggest fake smiles that they can.]
Max: It was great!
Autumn: I can't think of why I've never done it before.
[Robert looks on quizzically. He walks up to Autumn and talks to her, close by so Sally can't hear.]
Robert: If you don't like this, you could just tell Sally you know. I don't think that she'd mind.
Max: Right, after all, she just wanted you to try this. I don't think she'd mind if you couldn't handle it.
[Autumn looks like she has just been challenged. Jump cut to her wearing wilderness survival gear, and giving off her big fake smile.]
Autumn: So, are we ready for the wilderness hike?
[Cut to the other Dunns round a picnic table with lunch stuffs on it.]
Sally: That sounds awesome! By the time we'll get back, it'll be late enough for us to make the smores. Mmmm, I can already taste the chocolate...
[Sally is lost in bliss as she says this. Autumn walks past Max.]
Autumn: So how long is the trail?
Robert: Well, there's a five mile trail and a fifteen mile one.
Autumn: Ooh, the fifteen mile one sounds great.
[Autumn starts talking in Max's ear.]
Autumn: But then again, it sounds like something only hardened campers should take.
[Max swallows hard.]
Max: Alright... let's do it.
Sally: Awesome! Where's Gumdrops?
[Cut to Gumdrops trying to "sew" together a bunch of leaves to form a makeshift dress. He puts one final leaf in the dress and then takes am moment to show off to himself. Robert and Sally look very concerned.]
Robert: He does know... that those are poison ivy leaves, right?
Sally: If he doesn't, he will soon.
[Cut to Gumdrops smiling blissfully. Then reality sets in. He leaps out of the dress and then starts to scratch the itch he's found himself in - on dirt, sharp rocks, and trees. As he's doing so, we zoom in on the squirrel from earlier on one of the branches. As Gumdrops tries itching on the tree, the branch shakes, breaks, and the squirrel barely manages to hang on, angrily chattering about what happened. He pulls out an acorn and throws it. We cut to Gumdrops, who gets the nut to his head. He looks up angrily and then gets pelted with another one, knocking him over. He gets up again and then the nuts start launching at him machine gun style. Gumdrops gets up in a daze.]

[Cut to the Dunns already deep on their hike. Max is extremely winded and is sweating profusely. He finally takes a seat on a rock.]
Autumn: Wow, you're already tired?
Max: And you're not?
Autumn: Do you know how much running I need to do every day in school? This hike? It's a light breeze. If you want to take a walk back though, I'm sure that Sally will--
Max: I'm not chickening out.
[Max says as he stands to his feet.]
Sally: What about a chicken?
[Cut to Robert, Sally, and Gumdrops walking up behind them. Gumdrops now has splotches and is scratching himself as he walks.]
Max: I uh... thought that I saw one up ahead.
Robert: You guys are going pretty fast. You might wanna pace yourselves.
[Sally nods in agreement.]
Max: What, are you kidding? I've got energy for days. I could run the rest of the way.
[Autumn gets an idea, and then she slinks by Max.]
Autumn: Ooh, how about a race then? First one back to camp wins.
Max: Uh....
[[Close up on Autumn.]
Autumn: Oh, that's right I forgot. You aren't as young as you used to be--
[Autumn starts coughing as a cloud of dirt wells up around her. Jump cut to show that Max is gone and all that's left is a cloud of dust.]
Autumn: Hey! Wait for me!
[Autumn starts charging after Max.]
Sally: I'm starting to think that they like camping a little too much.
[Robert and Sally start walking onward. Cut to Gumdrops trailing them. He starts clobbering over the trail, falling down out of tiredness. He then collapses. His eyes look over towards a berry bush. He then gets up and excitedly dives into it. After a bit of shuffling and berries disappearing, he comes out wearing makeup made from the berries. He happily starts trotting along the path once again. Soon a bug starts flying near his face. He doesn't notice. Then a couple of bugs appear, and Gumdrops notices and tries to swat them away. After a beat, more bugs appear. Gumdrops angrily looks at them and then hears a larger buzzing noise. He turns around and sees a huge swarm of bugs and then, panicked, runs into the forest.]

[Cut to Autumn standing on top of a large hills that the trail climbs up on top of it.]
Autumn: C'mon Maximus! If you think that this hall is large, you should see the next one.
[Cut to Max crawling to the top of the hill, still sweating.]
Max: Don't... call... me... Maximus.
[He falls down out of exhaustion.]
Autumn: Okay then, Maxxy. I'll just be on my way, winning this race.
[Cut to a mole hole sprouting up in the trail. Autumn doesn't notice this as she walks towards it. The mole doesn't seem to notice her either as Autumn walks closer. He slowly manages to get out of the way justi n time for Autumn to miss him and end up stepping in his hole. Autumn ends up tripping and falling forward. The camera pans back as Autumn starts tumbling down a hill. The camera pans back even further to show that the hill is even larger, and she has further to tumble down. Autumn ends up landing in a giant spider web. She struggles to get out, but she appears to be stuck.]
[Cut to Max getting back up, exhausted, but with a smile.]
Max: (Weakly laughs)
[The mole ends up walking by him, causing him to fall backwards and tumble down the hill the other way. He ends up going through a thorn bush, eventually knocking his head through a tree. As it goes through the other side, a woodpecker is on his head. It starts angrily pecking Max's head.]
Max: Why do birds have to be so annoying?
[Cut back to Autumn still on the spiderweb. A couple of bluebirds have formed a nest on Autumn's head. Autumn struggles to get out of the web, but she can't seem to.]
Autumn: I hope that you guys are enjoying this more than me.
[Cut to the birds in the nest. They are feeding their children. it looks at Autumn with a worm in its mouth and smiles as it flies onto Autumn's nose. Autumn comes to a realization.]
Autumn: Wait, I know what you're doing! No! No!
[The bird turns around and looks like its about to drop the worm in Autumn's mouth. She closes her mouth and starts moving whenever the bird tries to put the worm in it. After a few attempts, it gets annoyed and pecks at Autumn's mouth, making her open up in pain and drops it in.]
Autumn: Gah! No! Gross!
[The bird flies away as Autumn tries to pull herself off the web in desperation. She starts pulling herself out of the web, but she ends up getting a lot of it stuck all over her. She ends up falling into a bunch of brambles as well. She pulls herself out, and ends up getting antler-like branches stuck to her head.]
Autumn: Just... perfect.
[Autumn tries pulling them out, but she can't manage to do it. They are completely stuck. And she tries to remove them, she ends up bumping into a male deer. He turns around in surprise. The background turns red as he begins staring down Autumn. Autumn's expression becomes frightful, as she has the proverbial deer in the headlights look. The deer starts charging her down.]
[Cut to Max pulling himself out of the tree. He trips backwards as he does so and knocks into another tree. A beehive ends up falling right into his hands.]
Max: [Sarcastic] A present for me? You shouldn't have.
[Jump cut to Max making a mad dash through the woods, trying to get ahead of the bees. He is partially covered in honey. Max is looking around for some kind of escape.]
Max: [Panting] When running from bees... you're supposed to go--
[Max ends up running over the edge of a cliff.]
Max: Off of a cliff apparently.
[Max lands on the back of a large bear, actually knocking it out.]
Max: Luckily I had a soft landing... and I knocked the soft landing out. Who knows what a bear could have done.
[Max looks over to his side and sees a bear cub looking really sad at the mother. Then it looks up angrily at Max.]
Max: Oh and just what do you plan to do?
[The bear cub bares its teeth and snaps at Max. Max gets up and starts walking backwards.]
Max: Uh... no hard feelings?
[Another snap is heard from behind. it's another bear cub.]
Max: So, if you don't mind, I'm gonna be going... uh this way!
[Cut to Autumn, who is still in a tussle with the stage.]
Autumn: I keep telling you that I don't want to fight!
[Autumn ends up being held over a cliff with a river running at the bottom, by their interlocking "horns."]
Autumn: Don't you dare let me go!
[The deer continually shakes its head back and forth, trying to knock Autumn down, but their "horns" are too tangled. Autumn just gets spun around until she's on the deer's back. He stamps around, trying to knock Autumn off, but she hangs on as tight as possible. From this vantage point, she grabs a tree and climbs it. The deer begins ramming the tree, Autumn holds onto it desperately.]
Autumn: That was a close one.
[A crackling sound is heard. Autumn looks very frightened. The tree starts falling out of the dirt and over the cliff. Autumn hangs over the river.]
Autumn: Today is just not my day, is it?
[The parent bird from earlier lands on the tree trunk and looks down with a smile, with another worm in its mouth.]
Autumn: Just what are you planning?
[The bird chirps.]
Autumn: Nope, goodbye.
[Autumn takes the plunge into the river below. We cut to her washing ashore a little bit down the way. She crawls onto land and then she starts desperately gasping for air. The same bird from earlier, sitting on a branch, drops a worm into Autumn's mouth.]
Autumn: Gah! What is wrong with you!?
[Autumn starts spitting out the bits of worm.]

[Cut to Max and Autumn both making it to the camp, both worse for the wear. They look at each other extremely annoyed. It's sunset now.]
Max: Do you KNOW what I've just been through!?
Autumn: You wouldn't have had to go through any of it if you just let me stay home!
Max: No, I wouldn't have had to go through this if it wasn't for your stupid race.
Autumn: Hey, you didn't have to do it!
Max: What kind of kid do you think I am, Autumn?
Autumn: One who doesn't know how to quit!
Max: Maybe I don't wanna quit because I don't wanna end up like you!
[That line echoes off into the woods, followed by silence. Autumn is incredibly surprised by this. Max walks off towards the picnic table.]
Max: But no, you're absolutely right. It's better off to just stay home, never doing anything, just wasting your life on wasting time.
[Autumn is speechless. Sally and Robert enter the campsite.]
Sally: Aw! You guys beat us! How was your race?
[Both Max and Autumn don't say anything. They just stare away from each other.]
Robert: What happened to you guys?
Autumn & Max: I don't want to talk about it
Robert: Alright then. I'm just going to get a fire started.
Sally: Ooh, and I'll get the stuff ready for s'mores. We can eat them while telling ghost stories!
[Cut to Sally looking around in the car. In the background, some squirrels can be seen. Sally rummages slowly for a moment. And then she starts looking more frantically.]
Sally: Where is it? Where is it!?
[Sally gets out of the back seat of the car, and then she looks through the trunk, going on with a similar mantra. Robert walks up.]
Robert: Where's what?
Sally: The chocolate! The chocolate's gone!
[As Sally goes on, the squirrels jump into the car.]
Autumn: We probably just left it at the house. Oh well, no smores I guess.
Sally: No, no, no, this CANNOT be happening!
Max: Sally, you'll be fine .It's just chocolate--
[Sally walks up to Max with a crazed look in her eyes.]
Sally: Just chocolate? (Insane cackling). Just chocolate? Have you EVER seen how I get without chocolate?
Max: I... wouldn't know.
Sally: Of course you wouldn't know. Because I take chocolate each and every day. (Crazy laugh). You see, I've got a respect for all things good and decent in this world.
Autumn: Uh... Sally, you're starting to freak me out. If this is some kind of ghost story--
[Sally starts walking around, occasionally cackling.]
Sally: Ah yes,. a ghost story. You'd love that. I'd love that, but--
[Sally quickly looks into the woods, upon hearing a wolf howl.]
Sally: Is that chocolate!?
Robert: Sally, I think that you need to calm down... just a bit.
[Sally turns to Robert. She jumps at him, knocking him down to the ground. Autumn and Max look on afraid.]
Sally: You've got the chocolate, Robert, don't you!? I know... you're hiding it from me!
Robert: No! I don't have your chocolate!
Sally: No, no, you're not hiding the chocolate. You ARE chocolate!
[Sally bites deep down into Robert's arm.]
Robert: Ow! I'm not made of chocolate!
[Sally gets pushed off by Robert.]
Sally: You're lying! I could taste the chocolate! The sugar! It's in your blood, in your veins! You ate it all!
Robert: I didn't eat any of the chocolate!
[Sally turns her head in a slow, creepy, owl-like fashion towards Autumn and Max. They look very concerned.]
Sally: Maybe they did.
Autumn: I have a feeling that we should--
Max: Run!

[Cut to Autumn and Max making a mad dash towards the car. Cut to the inside. One of the squirrels is hot-wiring it. The squirrel that was frightened from earlier is behind the wheel. The hot-wiring succeeds and the car starts driving into the woods, with the squirrel inside laughing like a maniac. Autumn and Max just stand there stunned, with the tail light shrinking in the distance.]
Max: Did that just happen?
Autumn: I think that we should be more concerned with what's going to happen if we don't get a move on.
[They turn around to see Sally chasing after them, running on all fours. Autumn and Max start running themselves.]
Autumn: This would have never happened if you didn't make me go camping.
Max: Yes thank you, you've made your point.
[Autumn ends up tripping on a tree root. Max tries as hard as he can to get her foot loose.]
Max: Why on earth did you decide to go camping in high heels?
Autumn: I didn't think that I was going to be chased by my chocolate-starved daughter!
[Max pushes Autumn's foot out of the branch and she starts talking off. Max is still on the ground as Sally is coming closer and closer.]
Sally: Oh Maxxy! Autumn! Where are you? I just want you to... answer me some questions! Like which of your arms taste better!
Max: Thanks a lot Autumn.
[Max ends up running. He's nearly out of breath, and is continually looking backwards. Sally sounds very close. She's making wild animal sounds as she runs. Max walks by a cliff-side and then he gets grabbed. Max is about to scream, but Autumn pops out of the darkness to shush him. We see the silhouette of a grizzled Sally as she clambers to the top of the hill and she howls at the full moon.]
Max: I just had a thought...
Autumn: What?
Max: Why are we even running from her? Even if she's... this creepy. It's still just Sally, right?
[Sally howls again, and it echoes all throughout the forest. A pack of adorable raccoons runs up and surrounds Sally.]
Max: They're pretty cute.
[Sally starts to hiss at them, and they start hissing in turn, outraged by Sally's story. They all start looking vicious.]
Max: Well, as long as there's no way for her to know we're here, we'll be fine.
Autumn: I just felt something move!
[They both look down to see a skunk cuddling in Autumn's lap, like a little cute kitten.]
Autumn: Shoo, shoo!
[The skunk turns over, demanding a belly rub.]
Max: Just give it what it wants.
Autumn: Max, I'm not touching a smelly skunk.
[The skunk looks offended and raises up its tail.]
Max: Oh now you've done it.
[Cut to Sally and her raccoon followers. There's an explosion of green stench from where Max and Autumn were. Each of the animals looks over to it. Cut back down to the hiding place as the skunk pridefully walks away. Autumn and Max have extreme shocked expressions.]
Max: Could Sally have heard that?
[Sally's head dips down below the precipice with a wide smile.]
Sally: Chocolate!
[Autumn and Max each dive in separate directions as Sally ends up propelling herself right into a rock. Sally backs up with a piece of it in her mouth.]
Sally: [With mouth full] Chocolate? No chocolate. Rock!
[Sally spits it out. It falls to the ground, with the raccoons looking at it in concern. The rock has teeth markings in it.]
Sally: We must get the chocolate! Find them. Bring the chocolate to me!

[Cut to Autumn and Max running.]
Autumn: We gotta make it back to the campsite. Maybe Robert will know what to do.
Max: I... can't keep running.
[Max slows down, winded.]
Autumn: You can't give up! Sally will get us any moment now that she can smell us.
Max: What do you think the campsite will get us? The car's gone. Sally's got an army of raccoons, and if you haven't noticed, we're both battered and beaten by everything that breathes.
Autumn: So, you're quitting? Ending up like your old mother? Nothing to do but give up?
Max: A-alright.
[Max offers his hand and Autumn picks him up.]

[Cut to Autumn and Max walking back to the campsite, Max hobbling alongside Autumn. As they get to the campsite, their eyes widen with fear. Reverse shot to shot the bear cubs  and the deer.]
Max: Bears...
Autumn: Oh dear...
[The bear growls at Max, and the deer stomps at the ground.]
Max: How did you... find me?
[The bear shows off the little drips of honey that lead straight to the campsite.]
Autumn: And you?
[The bluebird lands on one of the deer's antlers.]
Autumn: Oh, a little birdie told you, how original.
Max: Shall we climb a tree?
Autumn: Sounds like a good idea right now.
[Cut to them frantically climbing up the tree. They get up into the safety of the branches and are looking down at the animals circling the tree.]
Max: Well, that's one problem... uh... solved. Now I guess we should figure out where Robert--
[Pan back to show Robert also hiding in the tree branches.]
Robert: What on earth happened to you? You guys smell like you got--
Autumn: Sprayed by a skunk?
Robert: Yeah...
[The deer rams the tree, jostling all three of them.]
Autumn: If you don't mind, Robbie, if we survive this, I've made up my mind that camping is one of those things that's just not my things.
Robert: I'm beginning to think the same thing to be honest.
Max: At least we're safe up here, right?
[Autumn gives an annoyed expression. Suddenly there's rustling from the bushes. Within seconds, the raccoons start popping out. Max looks even more nervous.]
Max: Well, uh... raccoons generally aren't known for their tree climbing ability, are they?
[Autumn gives the most annoyed expression that she possibly can. The raccoons start climbing the tree.]
Robert: Well, we're dead.
[Max thinks for a moment, and then he sees the pond in the moonlight.]
Max: The boat! They may be able to climb, but there's no way that they can swim.
Robert: But the boats can only hold two people. If all three of us ride in it, we'll sink.
Autumn: And besides, how do we get to it?
[Max looks down, thinking. Then he has a look of determination.]
Max: When I say "go", make a run for it.
Autumn: What?
Robert: You can't be serious!
Max: That's an order. Three, two, one, GO!
[Max falls down, landing on the deer. It doesn't knock it out. Instead, all of the animals look on angrily. The raccoons look down at Max, and the bears start swirling around. In the background, we see Autumn and Robert climbing down from the tree.]
Max: Hey everyone... I was just gonna... run.
[Max runs off, but the raccoons start jumping on him. Autumn and Robert look on in horror. But they turn around and come face-to-face with Sally, and her crazed smile.]
Sally:
 My chocolate!

[Cut to the raccoons tying up Max in the fishing line, and throwing them next to Robert and Autumn who are in a similar position. The bears and the deer circle around three of them. Sally comes into the environment, and she stamps her feet.]
Sally: MY CHOCOLATE! GET YOUR OWN!
[The deer stamps his foot in anger. Sally growls and he starts backing off. She starts growling at the bears and they turn tail as well. Sally turns to the Dunns and she starts laughing maniacally.]
Max: I told you guys to run to the boat!
Autumn: We weren't just going to leave you here.
Max: Well, now none of us get to go anywhere.
[Sally goes rummaging through the things that have been scattered about.]
Autumn: Do you think we can break the fishing line?
Robert: No, it's the strongest on the market.
Autumn: Always thinking ahead, huh?
Robert: If I did, I'd have some spare chocolate in my pocket.
Max: Might be best to not mention the uh... sweet stuff, with Sally so close.
Robert: Oh she's busy looking for something.
Autumn: Looking for what?
[Sally finally gets to the bag of marshmallows. She pulls one out and she smiles.]
Sally: (Giggles) Precious precious smores.
[Sally goes over to Max and puts the marshmallow in his mouth. Max, annoyed, swallows it. Then he smiles.]
Max: Ha ha, no marshmallow.
[Sally hisses at Max.]
Max: Wow, maybe you should be looking for breath mints instead.
Autumn: Max, what are you--
Sally: I'll eat YOU first then!
Max: Try it. I dare you.
[Sally chomps down, but Max dodges back and Sally ends up biting the fishing line, tearing through it. Max sticks his tongue out. Sally lunges at him, and she ends up getting her head stuck in a tree. Sally tries to pull her head out, but is having trouble. She growls and snaps as she does.]
Sally: Don't let my chocolate get away!
[The raccoons start swarming around Max. He takes a step backwards, falling over as he does so. They get closer. Max picks himself up and he makes his way towards the boat in the moonlight. He jumps on and starts pulling on the motor.]
Max: C'mon, C'mon.
[The raccoons start darting towards the boat. Max desperately pulls the string. The raccoons start jumping on and with one last pull, the motor of the boat starts going, landing Max in the middle of the pond before it runs out of steam. The raccoons growl at Max and get closer. Max smiles as they do.]
Max: Bye!
[He waves goodbye and then he dives into the water. The raccoons look on in confusion and then in fear as Max gets away. One of them touches the water and then backs away from it, shivering.]

[Cut to Max getting back out of the water, dripping wet. He gets to the campsite, but it doesn't appear that anyone is here.]
Max: Autumn? Robert? S-Sally? Where are you?
[Cut to Sally looking on from up in the trees. She looks down at Max. We see from her vision. Everything looks red, except Max, who appears to be a walking chocolate bar. Autumn and Robert are still tied up, right behind her, hanging from the tree.]
Robert: Max! Watch out!
[Max turns around as Sally pounces down, knocking him down. Sally smiles as she has caught her prey.]
Sally: It's dinnertime!
Max: No, no, wait! I.. I have your chocolate!
[Sally looks on with want. She snaps at Max.]
Sally: GIMME!
[Cut up to Autumn and Robert.]
Autumn: What does he....
[A shadow ends up cutting them down and they start falling, but the string of their fishing line catches them before they crash on the ground. Sally turns around for a second. Max, thinking quickly, scoops up some mud.]
Max: You want chocolate?
Sally: CHOCOLATE!
[Sally ends up chomping down on Max's hand with a smile. Max shouts out in pain, and Sally starts spitting out the mud and growling at Max.]
Sally: Dirty trick! Not CHOCOLATE!
[Max stops tending to his hand and he looks towards Sally.  She smiles with a wild grin. Then it's revealed that Max is looking behind her.]
Max: What the...?
[It's revealed that Gumdrops is standing behind Sally, also completely shaped by the wilderness. He's wearing wilderness survival gear, and hardened by the forest. He has the fishing line in his mouth.]
Sally: IT'S. MY. CHOCOLATE!
[Gumdrops doesn't move. He dares Sally to try and go after him. She does, and he's able to quickly dodge. As Gumdrops does so, he lets go of the fishing line and Robert and Autumn end up falling on top of Sally. She struggles to get out, but it seems like she can't.]
Sally: Get chocolate OFF OF ME!

[Cut to the next morning. Sally is the one tied up in the fishing line, struggling to escape, rambling about chocolate. She's on Gumdrops' back, who is exploring the woods like a survivalist. Intently smelling all of the right trees. He comes across a tire track and beckons his followers to carry on. Autumn, Max, and Robert start following on.]
Autumn: Max, if you don't mind, when we find the car and get home, I'm gonna spend the rest of the weekend in my room.
Max: I'm gonna spend the rest of my life in mine.
[They come across the car. It's been parked next to a tree, abandoned. Gumdrops looks around frantically, and then looks up the tree. He starts climbing it until he gets to an open groove. Inside the groove, we see the squirrel that stole the car looking away from Gumdrops' and bragging to all of its friends. The squirrels in front of him seem very frightened. The squirrel slowly turns around to see Gumdrops smiling. The squirrel backs up as far as it can go.]
[Cut to Gumdrops placing the squirrel, haphazardly covered in feathers and tied up, being placed in a bird's nest. It confusedly looks around until it sees the mother bluebird with a worm in its mouth. Cut to Gumdrops reuniting with the other Dunns. Sally has fallen asleep, mumbling about chocolate.]
Autumn: It's great that we found the car, but it's not going to be helpful if none of us knows the way out of the forest.
[Cut to Gumdrops with the car keys in his mouth and a smile. Iris out on this.]
